A man was hospitalized, and two houses sustained damage following a shooting incident in Pittsburgh's Homewood North neighborhood last night, according to authorities, a situation once again underscoring the persistence of gun violence in our communities.
Pittsburgh Police responded to a ShotSpotter notification of eight shots fired on the 7000 block of Monticello Street around 6:30 p.m., WPXI reported. They discovered a man who had suffered a gunshot wound to his arm, and he, despite the violence surrounding him, was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.
According to WTAE, no one inside the two homes was hurt when stray bullets hit them. The Pittsburgh Police Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene and recovered a firearm along with several shell casings. Authorities say the investigation remains actively ongoing.
