
Early this morning, a man was found critically injured after a shooting in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood. The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department and emergency services were dispatched at approximately 1 a.m. to the 400 block of Omega Street following reports of a gunshot victim, as reported by WPXI.
Upon arrival, first responders located an unresponsive male with a chest wound outside of a residence. The victim, in his thirties, was promptly transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The events leading to the shooting remain under investigation, but it is believed to have occurred inside a home after an altercation, WTAE reported.
The area was scrutinized by the Mobile Crime Unit for evidence, while detectives from the Violent Crime Unit took charge of the ongoing investigation. No further details about the nature of the fight or information about potential suspects have been released as of now.
