Early Friday morning witnessed violence in north Austin when a shooting occurred outside a local nightspot. According to CBS Austin, the incident unfolded just after 1 a.m. in the parking lot of Rodeo Night Club, located at 9515 N. Lamar Blvd. A man in his 20s was rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds following an altercation.
Initially reported in critical condition, police later confirmed that the victim's status had improved to stable. Austin Police Department detained two suspects at the scene, approaching the incident as an aggravated assault, as per CBS Austin.
It was just north of W. Rundberg Lane that the shooting took place, having the altercation and shooting been reported at first by onlookers outside the bar, as detailed by KXAN. Aggravated assault detectives from the Austin Police Department are actively investigating to piece together the events leading up to the shooting and to establish a motive.
