Authorities are searching for 20-year-old Dalvine Nickerson, who is wanted in connection with a homicide in Detroit. Nickerson was last seen on foot in Redford. The incident occurred at an unsanctioned barbershop at Charles Wright Academy, where a 20-year-old man was killed while getting a haircut from a school janitorial staff member, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
Public concern has escalated after the Detroit Police attempted to apprehend Nickerson near the Western Golf Course on Beech Daly between Schoolcraft and Five Mile. The police managed to quickly detain two individuals, but Nickerson was able to evade capture. According to Detroit Free Press, Nickerson was described as dangerous by Detroit Police Officer Jalon Nelson. The original confrontation with law enforcement officers began as a traffic stop before the search broadened into the surrounding area.
Nickerson, who was last seen wearing all black and possibly a black mask, is still being searched for by Detroit and Redford Township Police. Neighbor Bridgette Fulton called the situation "scary" and said she is keeping her doors locked, sleeping next to a knife, and keeping a gun nearby, as per FOX 2 Detroit.
