Maricopa County authorities report new developments in the case against Alex Bangash. Born in September 2001, Bangash faces additional sex crime charges involving two more alleged victims. The incidents reportedly occurred in Gilbert and Tempe, with one victim citing an assault in a park in December 2022 and another alleging an attack at Bangash’s residence in July 2023, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
A grand jury has returned a seven-count indictment against Alex Bangash, adding to his existing legal troubles. He now faces two counts of kidnapping and three counts of sexual assault, classified as Class Two felonies, along with two counts of aggravated assault, classified as Class Six felonies. These new charges are in addition to previous allegations, which include two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual abuse, and one count of stalking.
Alex Bangash had previously been indicted in connection with sexual assaults involving five other women. Those earlier charges include two counts of sexual assault in a domestic violence setting, four counts of sexual assault, one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault (Class Three Dangerous Felony), three counts of aggravated assault with domestic violence considerations, one count of stalking, two counts of sexual abuse, five counts of assault, one count of electronic communication misuse intended to terrify, intimidate, threaten, or harass, and two counts of threatening or intimidating.
Additionally, Bangash faces a separate charge of interference with monitoring devices, a Class Four Felony, after allegedly cutting off his ankle monitor and fleeing the state. He remains in custody without the possibility of bail. Authorities emphasize that all charges are allegations, and Bangash is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
