Maui residents should be prepared for a series of temporary closures affecting county offices and facilities in the next few weeks. According to a recent announcement by the County, shared by Maui County's official website, maintenance and staff training are the primary reasons for these disruptions.
The Lahaina Aquatic Center will close from noon Friday to 9 a.m. Monday for pool maintenance. The County Department of Personnel Services will be closed on Tuesday for staff training, with services resuming the following day.
All Maui district and permit offices, along with certain Department of Parks and Recreation pools, will close Dec. 5, for staff training. Pools will reopen on Dec. 6, and district offices will resume operations on Dec. 8 at 8 a.m., according to the announcement
The ʻĪao Theater parking lot will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 for restriping and signage upgrades by the County Department of Public Works. The lot will reopen with new two-hour parking rules. Alternative parking is available at the nearby Wailuku Garage.
