The Medina Police Department is gearing up for the 41st Annual Candlelight Walk this weekend, and drivers should be prepared to face some traffic hurdles in Uptown Medina. In a social media post, authorities notified the public to expect significant congestion and parking limitations from November 21 to 23 due to the festivities. Those planning to attend the events are encouraged to plan ahead and consider utilizing shuttle services that will be provided to help ease the expected influx of vehicles.

Visitors should take note that there will be absolutely no parking available on Public Square throughout the day on Saturday. In a bid to quickly alleviate parking stress, local parking restrictions will not be enforced over the weekend, freeing up some space for the anticipated crowds. Main Street Medina is stepping up by sponsoring a free shuttle service running Saturday from 2 PM to 9 PM and Sunday from Noon to 6 PM, designed to shuttle visitors to and from key event locations.

Three shuttle routes will service different areas of Medina, each with its own color code: the Green Shuttle will operate from Common Grounds on N State Rd, the Red Shuttle from Medina High School Performing Arts Center on Weymouth Rd, and the Gold Shuttle from Ella Canavan School on Lawrence St. Sponsors for the service include Dominic's Italian Restaurant, Cool Beans Cafe, and Summa Health, each supporting the initiative to ensure visitors have a seamless experience.

The weekend is packed with holiday activities, starting with the Community Tree & Square Lighting on Friday, as detailed in the Medina Police Department post. This year's Candlelight Walk includes a "Parade of Lights" on Saturday around 5:30 PM followed by fireworks. The festivities conclude on Sunday with opportunities to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, encounter live reindeer, enjoy carriage rides, and wrap up the evening with "Carols by Candlelight" at 6 PM.
