In what's shaping up to be a display of community and competition, Menomonie's finest first responders are rolling up their sleeves for a cause that transcends their daily call of duty. The Menomonie Police Department and Menomonie Fire Department are calling for residents to show support through a literal lifeline — blood donation. According to a recent social media post by the Menomonie Police Department, the "Battle of the Badges Blood Drive" event is slated for December 9 and 10 at Stout Craft Co.
Residents on both of these days can contribute their blood donations to either of the departments as they vie to collect the most blood units. Taking place on December 9 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and December 10 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, the event space is at 1501 N Broadway St. #1500, in the heart of Menomonie. Eager to make an appointment, donors are being directed to visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter the code: battlebadgesmenomonie.
The friendly competition between departments aims to collect blood donations. Each unit of blood collected supports local medical facilities, and the initiative also encourages collaboration between the participating departments.
