Mesa dentist Logan Cornwell is facing grave allegations following his second arrest, with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor added to his rap sheet. Cornwell, 34, was originally apprehended in October for attempting to lure what he believed was a 16-year-old boy, an incident which has now been overshadowed by a recent discovery of child pornography. According to a report by FOX 10 Phoenix, authorities reported seizing multiple videos of naked children after executing a search warrant at his residence.
During the initial sting operation, Cornwell was caught offering money to an undercover officer posing as a minor on a hookup app. Despite expressing interest in meeting, the dentist never got out of his parked white Tesla once he arrived at the agreed location, as detailed by AZ Family. When he was pulled over following this botched meet-up, officers uncovered a firearm, two phones, condoms, and a significant amount of cash on his person and in his car.
In court, Cornwell pleaded not guilty and successfully posted a $75,000 bail, but with the surfacing of the new charges, the judge ruled him non-bondable. Cornwell's lawyer contested the new allegations, claiming the absence of timestamps casts doubt on who exactly recorded the videos. "There's no indication as to who took these videos," his attorney said, in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. "I state that not to say that he didn't do it as much as to say that no one knows who did it. These could have been taken by anybody, including the subjects of the videos."
Cornwell is expected to reappear in court next month, but until then, he remains in custody. His professional standing has taken a hit, with the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners confirming the suspension of his dental license pending the outcome of his criminal case. The suspension, which was put in place on Nov. 14 after the board was made aware of the first set of allegations, ensures Cornwell's inability to practice until further notice.
