The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday night in Southeast DC. According to the Metropolitan Police Department press release, officers from the Sixth District responded to the 3500 block of Minnesota Avenue SE around 10:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found 40-year-old Lowell Trueheart of Southeast DC suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or send an anonymous text tip to 50411.
