Milton's December calendar is stacking up with community gatherings that promise a mix of traditional holiday cheer and family-friendly entertainment. According to recent announcements by the City of Milton, residents can look forward to an array of events kicking off with the Christmas in Crabapple celebration.
The holiday season in Milton officially begins to unfurl on December 6 at Broadwell Pavilion with their annual Christmas event. Scheduled to run from 2 to 6 p.m., the day will feature a range of activities, such as holiday inflatables for jumping on, cookie decorating, and screenings of Christmas movies. Santa Claus himself is set to make an appearance, offering free professional photos to all comers. "Santa Claus is coming to town soon – and so are our holiday events," City of Milton officials have tantalized, promising a planted community Christmas tree lighting to round out the evening.
Not even a fortnight later, on December 13, Milton's Fire Station 44 opens its doors for a Pancake Breakfast with Santa. This event, taking place from 8 to 11 a.m., invites attendees to "come ready to eat, groove to holiday tunes, perhaps stand in line a bit for the chance to see Santa," as detailed on the City of Milton website. In the spirit of giving, visitors are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the local Toy Drive, fitting neatly into a season marked by community and the joy of sharing.
The festive ambiance extends beyond just Christmas as the Milton Menorah Lighting on December 15 adds to the calendar. Chabad of North Fulton is joining forces with the city, beginning at 5 p.m., to celebrate Hanukkah with the lighting of an oversized, traveling menorah. "Anyone is welcome to attend," reads the City of Milton announcement, emphasizing a spirit of inclusivity and celebration that transcends individual backgrounds or beliefs. Quality time with Santa's better half is promised, alongside several special guests, with no registration required for kids under two.
Milton's officials hope that the line-up of events will resonate with the community's small-town charm and ethos. With the City of Milton hailing these gatherings as part of a "long, proud, cozy Milton tradition," the expectation is clear: these holiday events are more than just festive occasions.
