MINNEAPOLIS — Patrol officers from the Third Precinct rescued a lone pup spotted near Chicago Avenue and Lake Street this past Thanksgiving week. According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the officers acted quickly to ensure the animal’s safety and prevent potential risks to the community, resulting in a safe and heartwarming outcome.
The Minneapolis Police Department relayed the story on their social media, detailing how the officers secured the four-legged wanderer and promptly called Animal Control for assistance. Technology played a key role in the reunion, as the dog’s microchip provided the information needed to locate its home.
"The grateful owner shared heartfelt thanks for the officers' care and professionalism — a reminder of the many ways our officers serve beyond the badge," the Minneapolis Police Department expressed in their post.
