Authorities conducted a search that culminated in a safe resolution for three missing and endangered children from Oklahoma. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office reports that the children, accompanied by two adults, were located in Colorado Springs, following an alert from the Tecumseh Police Department in Oklahoma.
In the early hours of November 2, Danielle LeGrande made an emergency call, expressing concerns for her safety and making unclear statements, as per the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were alerted by a relative using a location-sharing app, which helped them to quickly coordinate and subsequently find LeGrande at her latest known whereabouts.
The search led deputies to the city of Colorado Springs, where LeGrande, an unidentified adult male, and the three children were all found safe. It was a collaborative effort, involving the Sheriff’s Office dispatchers, who acted promptly upon receiving the tip about LeGrande's location.
LeGrande, who was believed to be under mental duress at the time of her 9-1-1 call, was taken for a mental health evaluation and then apprehended pursuant to a no-bond warrant from Oklahoma. This information was provided by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, which also stated, "one of the children was released to their father at the scene." The other two children were placed under the protection of the Department of Human Services.
