As the holiday season steps into the spotlight, Mission Arlington is mobilizing to support the community with a grand gesture of goodwill. As reported by the City of Arlington’s official website, the organization is preparing to offer Thanksgiving meals to over 7,000 families, which translates to nourishment for roughly 30,000 individuals.
Starting November 17, volunteers are welcome to join the effort to pack and dispense turkey baskets, and on Thanksgiving morning, there's a call to action to help distribute these baskets to families in need. This outreach is not a solo journey but a collective endeavor. To truly make it happen, Mission Arlington is reaching out to the community to not only volunteer but also contribute food donations to ensure the baskets are fully stocked. In a statement obtained by the City of Arlington’s website, "If you’ve got a little time and a big heart, this is a great way to give back."
Demonstrating a spirit of camaraderie, the organization extends an invitation to those available on Thanksgiving Day to assist in serving a sit-down dinner for around 300 guests. It's a testament to how every set of hands, every act of service, melds together to create something impactful. Interested volunteers are prompted to act by contacting Mission Arlington at 817-277-6620 or dropping by their location at 210 West South St, with volunteer hours available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
