
The Monroe Police Department has confirmed the identities of two men dead in what's being investigated as a double homicide, as per a recent social media update. Matthew Charles Moody, 52, and James Curtis Wallace, 49, were found deceased in an apartment on the 2600 block of Nelda Drive in Monroe.
Responding to a welfare check at the request of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Monroe officers discovered the bodies around 12:00 a.m. on Friday. Their statement, revealed the arrest of 34-year-old Adam Latif Mercado in connection with the deaths. Mercado, a Monroe resident, is now facing charges for the murders.
With the investigation ongoing, detectives are vigorously exploring all leads associated with the case.
