Montgomery County Police are actively investigating a shooting incident and a separate homicide that occurred on Wednesday in the Fairland neighborhood, with detectives on the case working to unravel the events that led to one man being wounded and another dead. At around 7:54 p.m., first responders were called to the 3400 block of Robey Terrace following a report of a shooting, with officers finding an adult male with a gunshot injury, who told them he had been shot near Aston Manor Drive and had made his way to where he could call for help.
The victim was swiftly transported to a local hospital and remained alert and conscious, while at about 9:06 p.m. during the search for evidence or additional victims or perpetrators, K-9 officers came upon the body of 20-year-old Jadyn Mekhi Brown from Silver Spring he was found on the 13800 block of Aston Manor Drive, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds according to a statement by the Montgomery County Police.
The homicide detectives who arrived later are looking into both occurrences, though it is currently unknown whether these two violent events bear any connection to each other. Brown's body has been transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy scheduled the day after the incident, with authorities not yet making any arrests or filing any charges connected to either incident.
