The Town of Mooresville has announced an upcoming agenda that will bring new and returning local government officials into office. According to a public notice, a Special Called Public Meeting is set for Monday, where the community will witness the induction of recently elected Commissioners and the Mayor. Commencing at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Board Room, located at 413 North Main Street, the ceremony will lead into the usual Board of Commissioners meeting at 6:00 PM.
The post-meeting discussions are expected to be crucial, as the new officials plan to start their term with actionable items and community-centric discussions. Amidst the proceedings, the Board will also select a Mayor Pro Tempore, continuing a tradition of collaborative governance. The public is encouraged to partake either in person, or through a livestream which can be accessed at the town's website. The detailed agenda for the Board meeting, will meanwhile, be available online.
Regarding inclusivity, the Town makes a strong commitment to ensure all public assemblies are approachable to individuals with disabilities and those having language barriers. "It is the policy of the Town of Mooresville that all Town public meetings and Town-sponsored public meetings and events are accessible to people with disabilities and, to those with difficulties understanding the English language," states the public notice. Requests for accommodations tied to disability support or language translation services can be addressed by contacting the Town Clerk or the Town ADA Coordinator well ahead of the scheduled events.
