The Metropolitan Police Department has reported a number of arrests tied to unauthorized vehicle use in Washington, DC. The offenses, spanning a period from November 21 through November 26, 2025, led to the detainment of individuals across various neighborhoods in the district, highlighting an ongoing issue with vehicle-related crime.
Among those arrested was Anthony Lacuster, a 69-year-old with no fixed address, apprehended for allegedly commandeering a vehicle on the 5000 block of Nash Street, NE. In a similar instance, Deangelo Foster, 25, also lacking a permanent residence, was taken into custody for a related crime on the 2200 block of Alabama Ave, SE. Evidently, age and homelessness appear as recurring themes in these incidents.
Youths were not exempt from the police action, as two juvenile males, aged 17, were caught in the act on separate occasions. One was detained at the 2800 block of Buena Vista Terrace, SE, alongside 18-year-old Markus Bryant from Northeast, DC. Another youth was apprehended on the 2300 block of Raynolds Place, SE. Their arrests pose questions about the underlying social issues possibly contributing to underage involvement in such crimes.
Older individuals were also implicated, with Carl Taylor, a 51-year-old from Southeast, DC, and Kia Bowman, 55, with no fixed address, both nabbed on the 600 block of Condon Terrace, SE. Similarly, Robert Price, another 55-year-old from Northeast, DC, was captured for unauthorized use of a vehicle on the 1800 block of Rosedale Street, NE. Jordin Sagastizado, a 24-year-old from Greenbelt, MD, was the last arrest recorded, caught on the 1500 block of Olive Street, NE. Each arrest contributes to a wider narrative of pervasive auto theft challenges faced by the community.
These reports indicate a persistent crack in the civic armor—one that the Metropolitan Police Department aims to mend through continued enforcement. Full details of the arrests can be found on the MPDC's official website.
