The N.C. Department of Transportation released its latest "NCDOT Cash Watch Numbers" report on the closest business day instead of Friday due to the holiday schedule. Each Friday, the report provides a snapshot of the department’s prior balance, receipts, disbursements, and a preliminary ending cash balance ahead of the monthly reconciliation, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The report also shows "reserved cash" held in a "Trustee Account" for specific projects. These funds are used for initiatives tied to Build NC bonds, GARVEE bonds, and Energy Savings–Roadway lighting projects, as reported by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The daily figures posted by North Carolina Department of Transportation show the revenue received and the disbursements issued for North Carolina’s transportation projects. These numbers are finalized at the end of each month after reconciliation. Current and past reports are available on the North Carolina Department of Transportation website for public review.
