Boyd was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, while details about the shooter—who reportedly fled in a blue BMW, remain limited as the investigation continues, according to ABC7NY.
Law enforcement sources cited by The Post report that the incident occurred outside Sei Less restaurant following a dispute. Boyd was with friends at the time, and it is unclear whether he was the intended target. No arrests have been made, and witnesses at the scene have reportedly been uncooperative with the investigation.
Boyd joined the New York Jets this year and is currently on injured reserve due to a preseason shoulder injury. He signed a $1.6 million contract with the team. Before joining the Jets, Boyd played for the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and Houston Texans after being selected by the Vikings in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Following the shooting, a Jets spokesperson confirmed the team is aware of the situation and provided no additional comment. Boyd’s teammate Jermaine Johnson posted on social media asking for prayers. Boyd has not played this season due to a prior injury.
