Early yesterday morning, a CSX train and an Amazon delivery car collided on the tracks in Baltimore County. According to WMAR-2 News, officials state that the incident took place around 5:44 a.m. near Maple and Arlington Avenues, which is an area not designated as a crossing. Luckily, despite the severity of the accident, no injuries were reported.

Detailing the state of the aftermath, the involved car appeared to have bottomed out with visible marks on the asphalt, indicating where the front tires were before the train clipped the vehicle, flipping it in the opposite direction, narrowly missing an electrical panel and other nearby stationary fixtures. The collision inflicted substantial damage on the car's passenger side and deployed the airbags. Further scene investigation revealed that the car might have been traveling down Arlington Avenue and passed through an old chain marking the access ramp before reaching the tracks.

The Baltimore County Fire Department responded quickly and is now leading the investigation to find out what caused the accident. WBAL-TV reported that the vehicle had stalled on the tracks, and residents say this wasn’t the first accident in that area. They also noted that there were very few safety measures in place to prevent incidents like this.
