A 41-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday morning inside a mobile home in a North Harris County trailer park. Deputies responded to a call just after 2 a.m. on West Canino Drive and found the victim dead at the scene. The suspected gunman, a friend of the victim who had been staying at the residence on and off, is believed to be responsible for the killing. Two other people were inside the trailer at the time but were not injured. Homicide detectives spent the morning investigating the scene, according to ABC13.
Investigators described the location as a trailer park style home and confirmed that a homicide investigation is underway. The suspected shooter had already taken off by the time deputies arrived and remains at large as interviews and evidence collection continue.
Sgt. Greg Pinkins told ABC13 that the suspected shooter was a friend of the victim who had lived at the residence on and off. The two witnesses who were inside the home appear to be related to the suspected shooter, he said, but not to the man who was killed. “The shooter is not in custody,” Pinkins noted as detectives continued the probe.
