An assault and property damage incident occurred last Friday around 10:13 p.m. on the 3700 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast, leading to an arrest by Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District officers. The disturbance began after a suspect allegedly entered a business, took property, and then assaulted a victim who tried to intervene, striking them with a bottle and subsequently damaging their vehicle's windshield, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The suspect’s aggression continued with them throwing a bottle at another woman, causing minor injuries to both victims. Officers arrived during the active scene and successfully arrested the individual responsible for the assault and property damage, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The charges filed against 34-year-old William James Crist of Southeast, DC, include Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Bottle), Simple Assault, and Destruction of Property.
