
The NYPD is searching for a man accused of striking an on-duty MTA bus driver in the Morrisania area of the Bronx. According to ABC7NY, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. last Friday on a BX15 bus, where a verbal dispute reportedly escalated, leading to the suspect allegedly punching the 42-year-old driver before fleeing on a bicycle. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital with facial pain and swelling and is currently in stable condition.
Following the attack, police released a description of the suspect. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with white “Nike Air” lettering on the front, gray gloves, and gray pants. While fleeing the scene after allegedly striking the bus driver, he was carrying a black over-the-shoulder bag and riding a bicycle. FOX5NY reported that the suspect has a medium complexion, black hair, and is at least 5 feet 8 inches tall.
Both outlets reported that the New York Police Department has released a photo of the alleged assailant to assist in locating him.
