
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced that eastbound SH-9W near Goldsby will be reduced to a single lane through October next year as part of an interchange construction project. Additional lane and ramp closures are expected through November, with detours available via US-77 and I-44, as outlined in their latest traffic advisory.
US-77/Tecumseh Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Flood Avenue and 12th Avenue during evening and early morning hours as resurfacing work continues through mid-November. Nightly lane closures are expected along other sections of US-77 as part of ongoing improvements. The project is scheduled to extend into 2026 to enhance roadway safety and improve traffic flow in the Norman area, according to OKDOT’s traffic advisory.
I-40 between Meridian and May Avenue over I-44 is experiencing lane reductions, with nighttime closures affecting traffic. On Simmons Road, northbound and southbound lanes are reduced to a single lane near the intersection with SH-3. Construction projects also continue from Midwest City to El Reno, including a proposed roundabout at the junction of SH-66 and US-81 aimed at improving traffic flow.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced bridge replacement work over Bishop Creek along SH-9E, which may cause traffic delays, especially during game days. Construction is expected to continue through fall 2025, with measures in place to minimize disruptions during major travel events.
SH-37/S.E. 4th Street is closed at Broadway Avenue, and intersections at Danforth Road and Kelly Avenue are reduced to one lane in each direction due to ongoing construction. Work is expected to continue through spring 2026 as part of a larger project aimed at improving traffic flow in the Oklahoma City area, according to OKDOT’s traffic advisory.
