
A tragic incident shook the residents of Westmoreland County over the weekend, when a domestic situation escalated into gunfire, resulting in one fatality. State police confirmed that officers were called to the scene of the incident on James Street in Derry Township following reports of shots being fired.
The individual believed to be responsible for discharging the firearm did not survive the ordeal. WPXI reported on the event, affirming that there is currently no further threat posed to the community.
In a subsequent report, the victim was identified as 28-year-old Ryan Huinker. Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson confirmed his death. There was a significant law enforcement presence on the scene, including both the Pennsylvania State Police and the Latrobe Police, as reported by TribLive.
