The deputy's radar caught the motorcycle hurtling down the freeway at 113 mph in a zone marked for 70 mph. Following a traffic stop around 10:40 pm, the deputy approached the 41-year-old motorcycle operator, Odalys Darelis Roman, who hailing from Orlando. Roman explained that she was on her way home and her intention was to pass other vehicles to prevent a collision, she said to the deputy hoping to receive just a warning.

Rather than issuing a warning, the officer arrested Roman and charged her with Reckless Driving (M2) and Dangerous Excessive Speeding (M2). Odalys Roman subsequently found herself at the Sheriff's Processing Center as a result of her actions on the road. Her motorcycle did not complete the journey with her; instead, it was towed from the scene of the traffic stop.
