
An Osceola County man has been arrested and is currently facing multiple charges for allegedly buying child pornography on the darknet, a concealed section of the internet often linked with illegal activities. Janderson Freitas-Leite, 47, has been charged with the unlawful use of a two-way communication device and eight counts of possession of child pornography, as reported by ClickOrlando.com.
Following a tip-off from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Freitas-Leite's activities came under the scrutiny of the Osceola County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff’s Office, after being informed, began investigating the 47-year-old. As stated on their social media, detectives visited his apartment on November 14 at The Teale, located near Kissimmee, where they executed a residential search warrant and later interviewed Freitas-Leite. Multiple electronic devices were seized, including laptops and cell phones, which, after forensic analysis, led to probable cause for his charges, as per the same ClickOrlando.com report.
In a parallel report by WFTV, it was revealed that Freitas-Leite is being held at the Orange County Jail and was arrested on an out-of-county warrant. The investigation brought up concerning forensic results, affirming eight counts of possessing child sexual performance photos/videos, on top of the charge regarding the illegal use of a two-way communication device.
