The estranged wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, Robin Severance Lopez, will remain behind bars pending her trial date after she declined a plea deal. According to WFTV, charged in connection with an illegal gambling probe, which also incriminates her husband, Severance Lopez is facing serious allegations. The trial, originally scheduled to begin on November 10, is now set for December 8 following a continuance granted by the judge.
After her arrest on October 23 over purported violations related to bond conditions, Severance Lopez's bond was revoked, news confirmed by ClickOrlando. Prosecutors expect to present both recorded jail calls and financial records during the trial as evidence. Despite rejecting the plea deal, it was set by the judge while she waits in jail without the option of bond.
Alongside these developments, her estranged husband, Marcos Lopez, is waiting for his trial on racketeering charges, informing public perception of a saga entangled with allegations of misuse of power and personal deceit. Marcos Lopez, who faces his own legal battle next year, has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering.
