A teacher at Central Point Christian Academy in Osceola County has been arrested on charges involving inappropriate conduct with a 13-year-old student, officials from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office confirmed. Yezmar Angeanis Ramos-Figueroa, a 22-year-old physical education teacher, was apprehended after an investigation spurred by a report from the minor's mother, who conveyed concerns to law enforcement in October.
Following the mother's complaint, authorities engaged with the student and succeeded in recovering both text messages and photographs sent from Ramos-Figueroa to the student's cellular device, as per a statement detailed by ClickOrlando. In a subsequent acknowledgement to those probing this disconcerting situation, Ramos-Figueroa confessed to her actions of texting and the dissemination of an image to the young victim.
The ramifications of these admissions have landed Ramos-Figueroa in Osceola County Jail with charges leveled against her of distributing obscene material to a minor and transmitting harmful content, both of which these considered felony offenses according to a detailing of the events by WESH. These circumstances have prompted the Sheriff's Office to appeal to others, potentially impacted families or individuals, urging them to step forward if they or their minors had interactions with the defendant by contacting them directly at 407-348-2222.
