A solemn report emerges from southern Rowan County where, yesterday evening, an Amtrak train encountered a pedestrian on its tracks, resulting, tragically, in a collision. According to QC News, the incident took place near Vanquish Fence Company at approximately 8:54 p.m., involving a southbound train.
Further details, although scarce, confirms that the pedestrian was indeed walking on tracks belonging to the Carolinian route. The train, upon striking the individual, was temporarily ensnared in the abrupt halt of movement and the pause of transit rhythms that followed. WCNC added this detail, though investigators at the scene have yet to divulge further information regarding the crash specifics.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, as noted by WSOCTV, reported the incident in proximity to Pinnacle Way in the town of Landis, which timetable places the tragic event at around 9 p.m. last evening.
