The incident, which took place on October 25, 2025, occurred at 6150 N 5th St. It was reported that an unidentified Black male entered the store around 7:25 PM, brandished a firearm, and demanded money from the cash register. The cashier opted not to comply with the demand, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. According to a release by the Philadelphia Police, the suspect was last seen running north on the 6000 block of N. 4th St towards Chelten Ave. and was captured by surveillance cameras removing a green shirt to reveal a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath.
This individual is also believed to have quickly become a suspect in three similar commercial gunpoint robberies that took place in October of 2024. The same blue sweatshirt worn during the most recent attempt has been noted in previous incidents. Authorities are cautioning the public to avoid approaching the suspect and instead to contact 911 immediately if he is sighted.
