According to Pierce County's announcement, "The portal will contain limited case information, including cause and manner of death for all deaths under the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s jurisdiction." This will always keep the public informed without the waiting periods often associated with traditional press releases.
Information regarding each decedent, such as cause and manner of death, will be available on the portal. This data will be shared post family notification or after 48 hours from the time of identification if the next of kin has not yet been informed. Set to launch on December 1, 2025, this portal represents a forward step for Pierce County in embracing the digital age.
