Five years have now passed since the Parkland community said goodbye to one of its dedicated public servants, Deputy Daryl Shuey. On a somber anniversary, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department commemorates a legacy of unwavering service and commitment to the well-being of local residents.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department blog, recalling the day of November 10, 2020, when Shuey's watch ended due to a medical emergency, expresses a heartfelt tribute. "Daryl served our community for 26 years with humility, dedication, and kindness," the post reads, underscoring not only his professional role but also his value as a husband and father. His family, and the community, have been asked to be kept in thoughts as they continue to navigate the profound loss of their loved one.
Among his colleagues and those he served, Deputy Shuey was regarded for his integrity, compassion, and willingness to carry out his duties without the need for acclaim or acknowledgment. These attributes have been a guiding light for many who work in public service, setting a standard for commitment to one's community.
