A man was taken to an area hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg in Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood last night, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety. The incident occurred on the 700 block of Gallion Avenue around 10:15 p.m., and the man was found by officers responding to a report of shots fired. WPXI reported that the victim was conscious and alert, speaking with first responders at the scene before his transportation to the hospital in stable condition.
Despite the urgency of the situation and the clear need for understanding the circumstances surrounding the shooting, authorities say the man was uncooperative. He did not provide details about what had transpired leading up to the incident.
According to WTAE, officials had not announced any arrests in connection with the shooting as of this morning. Given the lack of cooperative testimony from the victim, law enforcement's next steps in their investigation may hinge on witness accounts and any other evidence they can gather from the scene.
