A serious collision disrupted traffic on Interstate 11 northbound near Boulder Highway in east Las Vegas, causing significant delays on the day before Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel days of the year. According to News3LV, the accident was reported this morning, with only one lane open to drivers at the scene.
Officials urged those traveling through the area to seek alternate routes, citing Boulder Highway or Sandhill Road as potential options for those looking to bypass the jam. The obstruction stemmed from a crash involving a semitruck that resulted in a multi-lane closure along I-11. This information was confirmed in a report by FOX5 Vegas. As cleanup and investigations proceed, travelers were advised to expect ongoing delays.
Nevada Highway Patrol and other responding agencies were on the scene to assist in traffic control and investigation of the accident. While there has been no immediate report of injuries, the highway patrol's incident page noted the crash occurred just before 8 a.m., at a time when traffic was already beginning to intensify ahead of the holiday.
