Motorists on Sunrise Boulevard should be cautious, as the Rancho Cordova Police Department has increased traffic enforcement. "A vehicle was spotted traveling at a high rate of speed southbound Sunrise Boulevard from the American River Bridge and an RCPD Motor Officer used his LiDAR device and verified the speed was at 100 MPH!" a recent Rancho Cordova Police Department post reported.
The driver was cited for excessive speeding under CVC 22348(b). "A conviction of this section includes fines starting at $500 and the potential to have your driver's license suspended," the post noted, as stated by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
Speeding is a leading cause of collisions in Rancho Cordova. According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department on their Facebook page, "RCPD Traffic Unit officers do their best to make sure motorists in our community are obeying the traffic laws and increasing the safety of our roadways!" The Traffic Unit focuses on enforcing traffic laws to reduce unsafe driving.
