WPXI reported that the crash happened in the afternoon, though the state of those involved remained uncertain as officials did not confirm if there were any injuries at the time.
Amid the congestion, PennDOT suggested that those driving consider taking different paths to reach their destinations, the day's travels marred by the unexpected interruption, while WTAE relayed from dispatchers that emergency services, including police, fire, and medical, were tending to the scene of the accident, which was reported around 12:10 p.m.
