In a move that aims to enhance emergency response capabilities, the Modesto Fire Department and the Board members of the Salida Fire Protection District, alongside local residents, gathered to mark the upgrade of the department's Engine 12 to an Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic service. The fire station, situated at the juncture of Salida Blvd. and Broadway Avenue in Salida, hosted the event yesterday.
The introduction of advanced life-saving equipment and the addition of trained firefighter paramedics to Engine 12 mean that the Salida community will now benefit from quicker, more sophisticated medical interventions in emergencies. According to the Modesto Fire Department, "Firefighter Paramedics on Engine 12 can begin advanced assessments and lifesaving interventions as soon as the fire engine arrives, working in coordination with our EMS partners to provide the best care possible."
This represents a significant stride in community safety and patient care for the district that further solidifies the Modesto Fire Department's commitment to the citizens it serves. Not only does the department deliver full fire protection services to the Salida Fire Protection District, but it also extends its coverage to the City of Oakdale, Oakdale Rural Fire Protection District, and the City of Ceres through service contracts.
