
A tragic incident occurred on the South Side of San Antonio early Sunday when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck. The accident took place around 2 a.m. in the 4900 block of South Flores, as confirmed by both KENS 5 and KSAT News.
The victim, a 41-year-old man, was identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner as Robert A. Flores, Jr. The medical examiner indicated that Flores died from blunt force injuries sustained during the collision. The driver, 22-year-old Jason Manuel Salazar, remained on the scene and contacted authorities after the incident, according to KSAT.
SAPD officers evaluated Salazar for signs of intoxication and determined he was indeed intoxicated at the time of the crash. "Officers evaluated the driver for driving while intoxicated and determined he was intoxicated at the time of the crash," reported by KENS 5. Salazar has been arrested and is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter. The ongoing investigation is piecing together the specifics of this fatal crash.
