The San Antonio Police Department needs the public's assistance to identify an individual suspected of strangling a kitten to death. As per a video posted on the department's Facebook page, the cruel event transpired within the confines of an apartment complex stairwell.

The incident, which occurred around 1:35 p.m. on Sunday, shows the suspect, a man believed to be in his 20s or 30s, wearing a red hoodie, the video which was captured on surveillance cameras at the complex located in the 7400 block of Yarrow Boulevard. According to KSAT, he is seen chasing the kitten before apparently strangling it.

The San Antonio Police Department has indicated that once the suspect is identified, he faces a charge of cruelty to a non-livestock animal: kill/poison/serious bodily injury.

The search for the suspect is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
