A San Antonio woman has found herself under arrest after a child, whom she instructed to move a vehicle, lost control and subsequently crashed into a neighbor's truck, as reported by FOX San Antonio. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office stated that 25-year-old Ladeja Pickett, was engaged in holiday decorating when she allegedly requested the child, under the age of 10, to move a vehicle from the driveway, a task that ultimately led to the incident and the child's injury, police were called to the scene around 4 p.m. on Sunday to the 4200 block of Gossan Springs.

Following the incident, the child, not related to Pickett, sustained injuries, including a laceration to the forehead and road rash on one leg. Pickett was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, facing charges of injury to a child and endangering a child, KSAT reports. The relationship between Pickett and the child remains undetermined at this time; however, it was confirmed by authorities that she is not the mother of the child involved in the mishap.

Details from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office reveal Pickett believed the child capable of relocating the car as they were aware of where the keys were kept and managed to retrieve them on their own, despite the known risks associated with allowing an underage unlicensed individual to operate a motor vehicle, the child managed to start the vehicle and, in an attempt to control it, lost command and leaped out prior to the vehicle colliding into the neighbor's truck.
