In a recent operation spearheaded by the Santa Rosa Police Department's Property Crimes Investigations Team, 19-year-old Elijah Gaudet was apprehended after a thorough investigation into his dealings in narcotics. In a social media post from the Santa Rosa Police, it was detailed how surveillance and a subsequent traffic stop led to the discovery of multiple substances, including psilocybin mushrooms, suspected fentanyl, and numerous other drugs in various stages of packaging.
Yesterday, as Gaudet and his associate, Lyrik Morales, also 19, left the residence, detectives executed a traffic stop, finding drugs and paraphernalia. Morales was found to possess a firearm with a defaced serial number, adding to the charges against him as he was already barred from owning firearms due to a prior conviction. At Gaudet's apartment, where the search warrant was served, the scene unfolded with a 23-year-old woman, Taylor Elder, and an infant amidst the narcotics paraphernalia, leading to additional child endangerment charges for both Gaudet and Elder.
The infant, whose environment was described as hazardous due to drugs and contaminated materials strewn about, was placed in the care of a family member. Meanwhile, those involved were arrested on charges ranging from narcotics possession with intent to sell to child endangerment and weapon violations.
