The Seattle Department of Education & Early Learning (DEEL) has put out the call for early learning providers looking to be a part of the Seattle Preschool Program (SPP) for the 2026-2027 school year. According to the DEEL recent release, the application window is now open, with a firm deadline of December 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PST for prospective programs to submit their qualifications via an online Submittable portal.
It's noteworthy, especially for existing SPP contractors who received their application instructions directly via email and should not apply through this latest solicitation, that this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is specifically for new classrooms that have not previously had contracts with the SPP. Family Child Care (FCC) programs seeking participation in the SPP should not use this RFQ to apply. Instead, their path lies with contacting SPP’s FCC Hub administrators at either BrightSpark Early Learning Services or Tiny Tots Early Learning Collaborative for pertinent information.
The SPP, underpinned by the Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise Levy, serves as a fundamental pillar for young Seattleites, providing high-quality preschool services for 3- and 4-year-old children. The objective hinges on enhancing school readiness and bolstering continued academic success for these young minds. This program stands as a committed community investment in fostering an early, strong foundation in education.
For those interested in the application process or seeking further details, the DEEL urges providers to visit their website. In a move to bridge any language barriers, the department offers in-language assistance, including interpretation during meetings and translation of documents, which can be requested by contacting [email protected] or by calling (206) 386-1050.
