SeaWorld Orlando is making waves in the theme park world with its announcement of SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep, a new immersive indoor dark ride set to open in 2026, which will take visitors on an underwater adventure, revealed during the annual International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo, as reported by WESH.
The attraction is described as a "first-of-its-kind" with guests boarding submersible-style vehicles capable of holding up to three riders, unlike other rides these vehicles can rotate and swing, simulating a cinematic deep-sea dive complete with encounters with sea creatures and shipwrecks, in an experience that aims to inspire curiosity and exploration for all ages, as Conner Carr, SeaWorld Orlando’s vice president of rides and engineering explained, stating "There are so many things that make this ride so unique," he said, as per WESH.
The ride's submersibles will feature dynamic lighting and an immersive audio system to enhance the passenger experience, and with a full indoor setting, SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep is planned to be independent of external weather conditions, as highlighted in a statement reported by ClickOrlando. SeaWorld Orlando is also incentivizing visits with up to 60% off tickets, fun cards, and annual passes during its Black Friday Sale, offering exclusive benefits to annual pass holders like free parking, monthly rewards, and early preview access to attractions, including the upcoming SEAQuest.
In partnership with Vekoma Rides, known for their work on the TRON Light Cycle/Run at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, this represents a new venture for SeaWorld, marking a significant collaboration, Carr expressed anticipation for the future of this partnership saying "Being at the moment of a brand new partnership that you know, in 20, 30, 40 years, we're gonna get to look back and trace it all the way back to this moment as the beginning of something that's truly going to explode and build more and more together," he told WESH.
The SEAQuest ride is slated to open in a newly expanded area of SeaWorld Orlando, promising a unique undersea journey that merges innovative ride technology with elaborate marine storytelling, set against the backdrop of the ocean's vast mysteries.
