More than two years after a deadly shooting in Northwest D.C., police have arrested a second suspect in the killing of 46-year-old Donald B. Childs. On November 12, the Metropolitan Police Department announced that 21-year-old Daniel Bangura, of Southeast D.C., has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Childs was found with a gunshot wound on July 30th, 2023, around 2:43 p.m. Officers from the Fourth District responded to the scene and found him in critical condition. He was taken to a hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS but later died from his injuries, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
Earlier, police had already arrested 29-year-old Iesha Marks, of Bowie, Maryland, on the same charge. Authorities have not said how Marks and Bangura are connected. Bangura was taken into custody by the MPD Fugitive Unit and booked into the D.C. Jail under a court order. Police say the investigation is still ongoing and have not shared whether more suspects are being sought.
