Four people were detained on Tuesday evening after gunfire broke out during a dispute on the platform at the Fannin South Transit Center, the METRO rail stop just south of NRG Park. No injuries were reported, and two firearms were recovered as multiple law enforcement agencies swarmed the scene.
According to FOX 26 Houston, the shots were fired on the platform and officers quickly moved in, detaining four people and recovering two guns. The incident unfolded at 8701 Fannin Street, where a Harris County Sheriff's deputy assigned to METRO's rail safety initiative heard the gunfire, chased a suspect, and detained one person, as per Click2Houston. METRO officers detained a second individual at the scene, while Houston Police later tracked down and detained the remaining two.
FOX 26 Houston also noted that investigators have not released the identities of those detained. METRO credited the fast coordination between its officers, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, and HPD with helping protect riders and staff while the investigation continues.

As the platform was locked down and trains were halted, TV crews arrived to capture the aftermath. KHOU reported it had a crew on site as officers cleared nearby areas, canvassed for witnesses, and began reviewing surveillance footage to sort out who did what in the chaos.
