
The Shrewsbury Police Department reported multiple arrests following a series of traffic stops last week. Last Monday, officers arrested a 60-year-old St. Louis woman during a stop for a vehicle with no license plates. According to the city's release, the driver did not have a valid license or insurance and attempted to avoid arrest by claiming medical issues. After being evaluated at a hospital, where she declined treatment, the woman was booked on traffic-related charges and outstanding warrants.
Last Wednesday, a 53-year-old man from Jennings was arrested during a traffic stop for expired license plates. The Shrewsbury Police Department report noted that, despite citing medical conditions, he declined medical attention and was booked on traffic charges along with multiple outstanding warrants.
A 36-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested during a traffic stop for driving without license plates, a driver’s license, or insurance last Thursday. Unlike previous cases, she did not report any medical issues and was released on summonses. She is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court to address the charges.
Between last Monday and Sunday, Shrewsbury Police responded to a variety of incidents beyond routine traffic stops. The department reported 10 auto accidents and conducted 47 traffic stops, targeting problem areas. Officers also handled 6 calls about suspicious activity, 3 theft reports, and 2 calls involving suicidal individuals. In addition, they assisted the Fire Department with 31 calls.
