A Simi Valley resident is facing severe legal consequences after being charged with the attempted murder of his girlfriend, a case that has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of domestic violence. According to Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko, Cesar Manuel Zavala, was charged in connection with a domestic violence incident that took place on November 23, 2025.
Zavala's charges are particularly serious, including attempted murder and several special allegations that could significantly impact sentencing if he is found guilty. Following a verbal altercation, police discovered an adult female victim with various visible injuries at Simi Valley Hospital. Zavala, who was allegedly responsible for the injuries, was later apprehended at his residence, where he initially resisted cooperation before ultimately surrendering to law enforcement.
