
Seventeen-year-old Andre Whitfield of Southeast DC has been arrested for his alleged involvement in six carjackings and armed robbery. The arrest followed a DC Superior Court warrant issued yesterday, as per the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
The incidents occurred between June 8 and June 12 across multiple locations in the District, including Northwest and Southeast areas. One incident on June 12 was unarmed.
Whitfield was also found in possession of a weapon and faces additional charges including prohibited possession of certain dangerous weapons, possession of an unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, and a large-capacity ammunition feeding device.
The MPD Carjacking Taskforce, working with the FBI Washington Field Office, led the investigation. Authorities continue to seek other suspects and encourage anyone with information to call the MPD at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411.
